What should I bring on the kayaking tour?

  • Comfortable clothing (that can get wet)
  • Sunscreen and sunglasses
  • Water shoes or sandals
  • A hat for sun protection
  • A waterproof bag for valuables (optional)
  • A towel (for after the tour)
  • Personal water bottle (optional)
  • A positive attitude and sense of adventure!

Do I need prior kayaking experience?

No, our tours are suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to experienced kayakers. Our Qualified guides will provide an introduction and basic paddling instruction before the tour begins.

What kind of kayaks do you provide?

We offer a variety of kayaks, including single and tandem kayaks. Top of the range from WILDERNESS, this offers the best, safest and most comfortable kayaking for your Kayaking Sydney experience.

What is included in a kayak tour package in Sydney?

A typical Sydney kayak tour package includes all equipment, a single or tandem kayak, paddle, and life jacket, personally fitted to you before departure. You’ll be guided by qualified, friendly instructors with expert knowledge of Sydney’s waterways, history, and wildlife. Before heading out, everyone receives a full safety briefing and hands-on paddling instruction, making it suitable for all experience levels.

What happens if bad weather hits?

While we can’t predict the weather, your safety is the priority. We reserve the right to cancel the session on the spot if we decide it is unsafe to go ahead.

If it’s forecasted to be too windy or rainy, we will offer you an alternative day to reschedule. If we feel we need to cancel due to the weather, we will notify you by the afternoon prior to the proposed dates, usually by around 5 pm.

Do you take corporate and private bookings?

Yes, all our tours are led by experienced guides, who will ensure you have a safe and enjoyable time on the water. Throughout the tour, they’ll share their knowledge of Sydney’s stunning waterways, local wildlife, and iconic landmarks, making it a memorable experience for all ages and skill levels.

What should I wear for kayaking in Sydney?

When it comes to what to wear, staying sun safe while prioritising comfort and warmth (especially on those cool summer mornings!) is key. We recommend the following:

  • Hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • A long-sleeved (preferably quick dry) shirt
  • Boardshorts, activewear shirts or leggings
  • For cool early morning tours, add a warm windbreaker or spray jacket

How much does it cost to kayak in Sydney Harbour?

We offer a range of tour options to suit different budgets and times of day, with prices as follows:

What are the most scenic kayak routes in Sydney?

Is there parking?

There is plenty of 4-hour street parking available around Blues Point Reserve, just a short stroll from where we set sail, which is next to the carpark on McMahons Point!

What time do the tours start and finish?

The start and end times of our tours will differ based on which tour you book:

  • The start and finish times of our Sunrise Kayak Tour Sydney Harbour differ based on the time of year and seasonal sunrise times:
    • April-Oct: Begins at approximately 5:40-6 am and lasts around 2 hours.
    • October-April: Begins at approximately 4.40-5 am and lasts around 2 hours.
  • Our Sydney Harbour Lunchtime Kayak Tour starts at 12:30 pm and finishes at approximately 2 pm.
  • Our Sydney Harbour Sunset Kayak Tour starts at 3.30pm and lasts until around 5pm.

    Please use Blues Point Road, McMahons Point as your drop-off. We launch from next to the car park, there is usually 4 hours free street parking available around the Blues Point Reserve. There are public toilets nearby as well.
